Dear Friends,

Four people associated with Friends of the Beaver Valley and the Protecting Talisman Lands Association spoke during Open Forum at the beginning of the Wednesday, Dec. 15, meeting of the Grey Highlands Council. You can watch the meeting here. It begins at the 6:20 mark.  The protocol does not allow for council members to question the speakers or make any comments.

The agenda item 7.2, to declare the upper and lower Talisman lands as surplus, begins at 2:05:10.  There was some interesting ‘discussion’ and justification around this from council members and the CAO, Karen Govan.  It is definitely worth a listen.  The lands were ultimately declared surplus.  We still have many unanswered questions around this whole process and will continue to push for answers and a reconsideration of the conditional sale to Westway.

We suspect that this may be reported on in the Flesherton Advance next week so we will be keeping our eyes open for that on Wednesday.

Sincerely,
Jeanette on behalf of FOBV
